There are a few differences when trying to choose in the middle of a hippie hoodie and a baja hoodie. The baja is more of the Mexican style sweater and the hippie sweater is more like a hemp or rasta colored pullover. They are technically both normally made in Mexico and they would both fit under the name of a baja hoodie.
Hippies love to look a minute bit grungy and they like to buy recycled clothing or clothes made out of recycled fibers. They also like baggy, very comfortable clothes as well. The style today has been to wear a minute bit smaller pants and more comfortable tops. You can't get more comfortable than a baja hoodie because they are designed to be a minute big and they breathe very well. This means that they can keep you warm in winter and very cool in the summer time. They are a year round sweatshirt and they are becoming more popular than they ever have been.

About 20 years ago you would see these pullovers around every once in a while but not like today. They are in any place you look now. You can't go to a high school in all of American without seeing citizen wearing this popular Mexican sweater. They once were only worn by hippies and known as drug rugs but now they are seen in all walks of life and they are called baja hoodies. The best part about this new trend is that they are economy than any other sweater you will find in any store.
