Mexican Baja Ponchos - Baja Hoodie Pullovers For Hippies

Mexican baja ponchos are not your typical poncho that you might think they are. When any piece of Mexican clothing has the word "baja" in it, it means that they are made of a inescapable material that is very illustrious in Mexico known as a jerga. These baja ponchos are not in effect even poncho but hooded sweaters with a pouch in the front. They were very illustrious among Americans in the 1980's but now they are mostly worn by hippies.

Because of the hippie trend of wearing these baja shirts, they have become known by the name of drug rugs but the more formal name is a Mexican baja hoodie. These surf hoodies are very popular in California and they are very hard to find in sell stores. Most states do not have shop that sell them so you have to crusade the Internet to find them.

Poncho

They are sometimes known as pullover ponchos because a normal poncho is naturally a Mexican blanket with a hole in the middle for your head. Mexican blankets normally come in 2 styles, a serape or a primary falsa. A serape blanket is the thin and very colorful blanket you would see in Mexican restaurants while the falsa one is thicker and often used as a yoga blanket.

To recap, a poncho has no sleeves while a baja hoodie or baja poncho has sleeves, a hood and a pouch in the front. Now you know the literal, names of Mexican style clothing so you won't end up getting the wrong item when trying to find something on the Internet.
